A beachy Fourth!

This year the Fourth of July brought about another first here in Charleston -- The Fourth on the beach! I think with every special occasion or holiday we like to use that as an excuse to go to the beach. Why? Simply because we can and it's never been an option before. I hope we never get tired of hauling our stuff to the water's edge, sandy toes, and lots of sunshine. So this Independence Day we met up with some of Brandon's coworkers bright and early (8:30!) to beat the crowds and nestled ourselves in for a relaxing day at the beach.

This was so neat! There was a military flyover of F-16 fighter jets. They started in North Myrtle Beach and flew down the SC coast to Hilton Head. The pilots of these jets were the very last U.S. armed forces to leave Iraq.  So cool!

After a long day at the beach we ran home to clean up and then headed back to mark our spots for fireworks off the pier that night.

It was a good day, indeed.
